2010 NFL Draft: 2nd Round

ST. LOUIS RAMS Round 2, Pick 1 (33rd overall)
  • QB Rodger Saffold, Indiana - 6'5" 318 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Should be a solid player at guard or tackle.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS Round 2, Pick 2 (34th overall)
  • CB Chris Cook, Virginia - 6'2" 210 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Big physical corner who could move to free safety. Better in man coverage than zone.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS Round 2, Pick 3 (35th overall)
  • DT Brian Price, UCLA - 6'2" 300 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • The Bucs have their interior defensive line of the future in Price and McCoy. They should get a lot of pressure from inside.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS Round 2, Pick 4 (36th overall)
  • RB Dexter McCluster, Mississippi - 5'8" 165 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Another Reggie Bush type player that should make an immediate impact as a returner, slot receiver, and playing some running back.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES Round 2, Pick 5 (37th overall)
  • S Nate Allen, South Florida - 6'1" 207 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Inconsistent tackler, but has good range. This was the pick traded for Donovan McNabb.

CLEVELAND BROWNS Round 2, Pick 6 (38th overall)
  • S T.J. Ward, Oregon - 5'11" 211 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Very good player that deserves to be drafted this high, but thought he'd be picked later because of his medical history.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS Round 2, Pick 7 (39th overall)
  • WR Arrelious Benn, Illinois - 6'1" 219 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Fast receiver who will provide return skills as a rookie and could play some wide out.

MIAMI DOLPHINS Round 2, Pick 8 (40th overall)
  • LB Koa Misi, Utah - 6'3" 251 lbs - 4.7 40-yd dash
    • Very good pass rusher, but could play inside for the Dolphins.

BUFFALO BILLS Round 2, Pick 9 (41st overall)
  • DT Torrell Troup, UCF - 6'3" 320 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Surprising pick, but will help Buffalo in their transition to a 3-4 defense as the nose tackle.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS Round 2, Pick 10 (42nd overall)
  • TE Rob Gronkowski, Arizona - 6'6" 250 lbs - ? 40-yd dash

BALTIMORE RAVENS Round 2, Pick 11 (43rd overall)
  • LB Sergio Kindle, Texas - 6'3" 250 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Can rush from LB or DE. Will probably play strongside linebacker for Ravens.

OAKLAND RAIDERS Round 2, Pick 12 (44th overall)
  • DT Lamarr Houston, Texas - 6'3" 305 lbs - ? 40-yd dash

DENVER BRONCOS Round 2, Pick 13 (45th overall)
  • OL Zane Beadles, Utah - 6'4" 307 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Played tackle in college, but will probably move inside to center or guard at the NFL level.

NEW YORK GIANTS Round 2, Pick 14 (46th overall)
  • DT Linval Joseph, East Carolina - 6'5" 328 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Can play DT or DE in a 3 man front.

ARIZONA CARDINALS Round 2, Pick 15 (47th overall)
  • LB Daryl Washington, TCU - 6'1" 230 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • He needs to add weight and strength, but is a very fast linebacker who is good in coverage.

CAROLINA PANTHERS Round 2, Pick 16 (48th overall)
  • QB Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame - 6'3" 222 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Very good pick this late. Ready to play right away. Will compete with Matt Moore for the starting job from day one.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS Round 2, Pick 17 (49th overall)
  • S Taylor Mays, USC - 6'3" 230 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Has a lot of range, but seems stiff, and will need to work on cover skills.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS Round 2, Pick 18 (50th overall)
  • CB Javier Arenas, Alabama - 5'9" 198 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Very good coverage corner who can return kicks and punts as well.

2010 NFL Draft: 1st Round

ST. LOUIS RAMS Round 1, Pick 1 (1st overall)
  • QB Sam Bradford, Oklahoma - 6'4" 236 lbs - 4.7 40-yd dash
    • The Rams could have just as easily took Suh or G. McCoy at this spot and still not been losers. Bradford will be the Rams' superstar QB of the future if he can successfully learn to take snaps under center.

DETROIT LIONS Round 1, Pick 2 (2nd overall)
  • DT Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska - 6'4" 305 lbs - 5.0 40-yd dash
    • The Lions' fans are happy with this pick though G. McCoy wouldn't have been a bad pick either.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS Round 1, Pick 3 (3rd overall)
  • DT Gerald McCoy, Oklahoma - 6'4" 295 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • McCoy will need a little more seasoning than Suh, but still should turn out to be a franchise type DT.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS Round 1, Pick 4 (4th overall)
  • OT Trent Williams, Oklahoma - 6'5" 315 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • The Redskins will be expecting Williams to come in and win a starting job from day one. Okung may be more ready to play, but Williams may have more potential.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS Round 1, Pick 5 (5th overall)
  • S Eric Berry, Tennessee - 6'0" 211 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Berry will probably start from day one. He can play free safety or strong safety. He played under Monte Kiffin, so he's pro ready.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS Round 1, Pick 6 (6th overall)
  • OT Russell Okung, Oklahoma State - 6'5" 307 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Okung is going to be a franchise tackle, and he may be able to come in and replace Walter Jones right away.

CLEVELAND BROWNS Round 1, Pick 7 (7th overall)
  • CB Joe Haden, Florida - 5'11" 193 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Fast player who is also tough. Should start opposite of Eric Wright in Cleveland. Sheldon Brown is also in the mix there, so Haden or Wright could play some free safety.

OAKLAND RAIDERS Round 1, Pick 8 (8th overall)
  • LB Rolando McClain, Alabama - 6'4" 249 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Tough middle linebacker who played under Nick Saban meaning he may have less to learn about playing an NFL defense versus a college defense.

BUFFALO BILLS Round 1, Pick 9 (9th overall)
  • RB C.J. Spiller, Clemson - 5'11" 196 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Tailback who will immediately help on special teams, and could provide a Reggie Bush type effect on the team.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS Round 1, Pick 10 (10th overall)
  • DT Tyson Alualu, California - 6'3" 295 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Seems to be a questionable pick this early, but was quickly rising up draft boards prior to the draft.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS Round 1, Pick 11 (11th overall)
  • OT Anthony Davis, Rutgers - 6'5" 323 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • 49ers traded up for this pick from the Broncos, so they must have liked him enough to give up the additional fourth rounder that the Broncos asked for.

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS Round 1, Pick 12 (12th overall)
  • RB Ryan Mathews, Fresno State - 6'0" 218 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • This pick doesn't seem to make much sense. They must really like Mathews to have traded up from 28th pick to grab him (along with their 2nd and 4th round picks).

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES Round 1, Pick 13 (13th overall)
  • DE Brandon Graham, Michigan - 6'2" 268 lbs - 4.74 40-yd dash
    • Andy Reid loves safety Earl Thomas, but Reid traded up to get another pass rusher (Eagles also traded two third round picks).

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS Round 1, Pick 14 (14th overall)
  • S Earl Thomas, Texas - 5'10" 202 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Thomas is fast enough to play cornerback as well. Instinctive, quick, and good change of direction.

NEW YORK GIANTS Round 1, Pick 15 (15th overall)
  • DE Jason Pierre-Paul, South Florida - 6'5" 270 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Great pass rusher. Not to going asked to be start from day one, but will be given plenty of pass rush opportunities in New York.

TENNESSEE TITANS Round 1, Pick 16 (16th overall)
  • DE Derrick Morgan, Georgia Tech - 6'3" 266 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Not a big surprise. The Titans needed defensive end help after losing Kyle Vanden Bosch to Detroit. Doesn't have the best initial burst, but is strong and will work hard to get after the QB.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS Round 1, Pick 17 (17th overall)
  • OG Mike Iupati, Idaho - 6'5" 331 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Powerful guard that will vastly improve San Fran's run protection.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS Round 1, Pick 18 (18th overall)
  • OC Maurkice Pouncey, Florida - 6'5" 304 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Powerful guard that can play center or guard. Pouncey is in shape to compete for playing time as a rookie.

ATLANTA FALCONS Round 1, Pick 19 (19th overall)
  • LB Sean Weatherspoon, Missouri - 6'1" 239 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Hard hitter who can pass rush. I personally like Eric Norwood better, and I think the Falcons could have done well to pick someone else and save this pick.

HOUSTON TEXANS Round 1, Pick 20 (20th overall)
  • CB Kareem Jackson, Alabama - 5'11" 196 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Fundamental cornerback with good hands. Practiced covering Julio Jones in college so he'll know something about covering the big guys in the NFL.

CINCINNATI BENGALS Round 1, Pick 21 (21st overall)
  • TE Jermaine Gresham, Oklahoma - 6'5" 261 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Very good blocker. Some similarities to Alge Crumpler.

DENVER BRONCOS Round 1, Pick 22 (22nd overall)
  • WR Demaryius Thomas, Georgia Tech - 6'3" 224 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • The Broncos traded up so they must have been worried that the Packers may have picked him. Thomas is a raw prospect, but has potential to be a top WR.

GREEN BAY PACKERS Round 1, Pick 23 (23rd overall)
  • OT Bryan Bulaga, Iowa - 6'6" 314 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Great value at this spot. Could start out at right tackle, and eventually work into a left.

DALLAS COWBOYS Round 1, Pick 24 (24th overall)
  • WR Dez Bryant, Oklahoma State - 6'2" 225 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Some scouts have said there are off the field problems, but he is easily the most talented WR in the draft. The Cowboys got a real steal here.

DENVER BRONCOS Round 1, Pick 25 (25th overall)
  • QB Tim Tebow, Florida - 6'3" 236 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Tebow is an enigma. Very hard worker that has a lot to prove. Could also see time as an H-back.

ARIZONA CARDINALS Round 1, Pick 26 (26th overall)
  • DT Dan Williams, Tennessee - 6'2" 327 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Run stuffing DT who was really only productive his senior year in college, but did that under Monte Kiffin. Should be ready to step in and compete.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS Round 1, Pick 27 (27th overall)
  • CB Devin McCourty, Rutgers - 5'11" 193 lbs - 4.41 40-yd dash
    • Return guy who is quick and tough. Probably the best special teams player in the draft who will also be a starting cornerback after a few years.

MIAMI DOLPHINS Round 1, Pick 28 (28th overall)
  • DE Jared Odrick, Rutgers - 6'5" 304 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Played DT in college, but should be a DE for the Dolphins. Rotational type guy to begin his career.

NEW YORK JETS Round 1, Pick 29 (29th overall)
  • CB Kyle Wilson, Boise State - 5'10" 194 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Adds to a very good defensive backfield in New York. This pick was probably just a matter of picking the best available player rather than the biggest need.

DETROIT LIONS Round 1, Pick 30 (30th overall)
  • RB Jahvid Best, California - 5'10" 199 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Best will get plenty of playing time in Detroit with injury questions. The Lions seem to be making the right moves to compete sooner than later. Best is fast, can catch well, and can be a return man.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS Round 1, Pick 31 (31st overall)
  • LB Jerry Hughes, TCU - 6'2" 255 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Good pass rusher, but questionable against the run. High motor. The Colts seem to be trying to get more pressure on opposing QBs next year.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS Round 1, Pick 32 (32nd overall)
  • CB Patrick Robinson, Florida State - 5'11" 190 lbs - ? 40-yd dash
    • Most "natural" cornerback in the draft. Had consistency problems.
